Time Machine

His kiss held his heart. It broke hers.
~ Slave to Sensation

I'm going to seriously start work on Aden's book soon, and I'm curious - how many of you have recently found the Psy-Changeling series (welcome to the pack! ;-)), and how many of you have been on this ride from the start?

Do you remember how you first discovered the series? Same questions if you're a Guild Hunter reader!

Traci From the beginning. Just picked it up at the book store. It was a happy accident.

message 2: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kaye A friend introduced me to the series. I blitzed through it - and found it was just as good the second time through!

message 3: by Rachel (new)

Rachel I just introduced a woman I work with to both series. I hope she enjoys it. I haven't seen her since I gave her the books. I told her to start with the Psy-Changeling series. I have been reading since I found the series when I worked at a bookstore and have been reading them ever since.

MJ I found GH a couple of years ago and loved it... But to be honest, the cover (the one showing above) for the P/C StS actually put me off reading it. The blurb was ok, but still not enough to get me over my little "books and covers" issue - and I couldn't see how I could read about 'our world' with these changelings, mind readers and humans etc - even tho apparently angels and vampires were fine . And yes, I know the saying and that it has been proven right repeatedly... but I still have a hard time getting past some covers.

Anyway, loved GH so much that I kept P/C on my radar as it were, and eventually caved (admittedly I was desperate for something to read). Luckily for me and my 'issues', I found that being in Oz, we got the 'pretty covers' - the black ones with the faces. Probably would have caved earlier if I'd known. Turns out... I loved P/C too!

...on a side note... My 'issues' with the covered still bugs me that even the black ones with the faces... The faces don't always match the description of the H... and yes, it drive me mad every time I go into the P/C bookshelf.

Have introduced a few people too... am still working on one, but she just doesn't get anything fantasy. I won't give up ho 

Syed First read Faith and Vaughn's story in Visions of Heat like 6 years ago and have read up to the latest! Weirdly enough read Slave to sensation only very recently, what a strange experience!!

Love it through and through!

message 6: by Cariann (new)

Cariann I recently found this series (earlier this year). Book One was offered through Audible as a daily deal. I was hooked from the start! I really enjoy listening to the audio version during my commute to work. I can't get enough of the books! I am ecstatic the series has many books and is being continued. Thank you!

message 7: by Katerina (new)

Katerina I first came across the Psy-Changeling series on Vaginal Fantasy book club, here on Goodreads. I really enjoyed it, I inhaled the rest of the series and moved on to the Guild Hunter, cause I enjoyed the elaborate writing and steamy content- plus angels... with wings!

message 8: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Trevino Back in 2008. Always a vivid reader, I had eared marked it on Amazon and finally decided to order it. After it arrive and before I could finsh it, I had already ordered all the books up to Brand of Fire ( latest one out at the time)and when I got my kindle I happily paid for all of them again.

message 9: by Khenta (new)

Khenta I started reading the Psy/Changeling series in 2009. The cover had put me off at first (that shade of pink -shudder-) and also the title, which, to me, sounded more like D/s erotica than PNR. Thanks to amazon recs that insisted I might like it I finally tried it - and loved it! Good thing by that time there were already a few novels out to feed my addiction. And after that, I started on the GH series.

message 10: by Charlene (new)

Charlene I found the P/C books in 2009 and devoured every one in print ASAP. I love some of the covers (especially the Arrows), but have learned to ignore them and focus on blurbs, reviews, and instinct when choosing to try a book/author. I wait impatiently for each new book!

message 11: by Heather (new)

Heather I accidentally started with Kiss of Snow when Borders was going out of business in my town and had huge sales. I had been interested in the cover/blurb before but when it was on sale I snatched it up. After that I realized I'd started waaay far into a series. I loved KoS so much I went Borders hopping in my state to go pick up the rest of the series and start from the beginning. XD I've been an avid fan ever since.

message 12: by Baoyi (new)

Baoyi I read Slave to Sensation say... In 2012? I picked it up in the school library because it was on display. I didn't even realize it was first of a series until I finished it; I continued with Visions of Heat only in 2014. Now I think: "why did I ever stop in the first place?" and I have no answer to that. Once I decided to stick with the Psy-Changeling series, I found the Guild Hunter series... and I will never look at angels the same way again. Ever. I even managed to get my sister to join the club! :))

message 13: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany I started the series when Caressed by Ice or Mine to Possess came out. I liked the cover and back matter of Caressed by Ice. Once I realized that this was part of a series I started at the beginning with Slave to Sensation.

message 14: by Erika (new)

Erika I found Slave to Sensation in a bookstore and got hooked to the series. I was overseas at the time so I was pleasantly surprised to find out you were a Kiwi too. :) The Guild Hunter series I started because I couldn't wait for the next Psy/Changeling book to come out, and I knew any book written by you would be good.

message 15: by Dora (new)

Dora My coworker recommended it to me when Psy/Changeling was just two books in. After that, I gobbled up every book and didn't hesitate to try GH when it came out too.

message 16: by Kelly (new)

Kelly I first started with the Guild Hunter series, when it was already at book 3, but I read them all quickly. I then saw it was a YEAR before the next one came out and I wondered why. I saw that you had another series which is why the Guild Hunter books were spaced out so I gave it a try, a way to pass the time until the next Guild Hunter book came out.
Best decision I ever made! :D

message 17: by Joan (new)

Joan Started the Psy-Changeling series in 2009 after Christine Feehan gave series a shout out. I gobbled up StS, VoH, and CBI...almost stopped reading after Tally and MtP. Picked the series back up with HtP and fell in love with the series again via Ashaya and Dorian. Now, the Psy-Changelings are an auto-buy for me.

Couldn't relate to the angels/vampires in the Guild Hunter books and something about Elena just did not appeal to me. Maybe I'll try the GH again...much later.

message 18: by Manda (new)

Manda Started with Kiss of Snow as a random read from my online library. I then figured out there were more books and read them mostly in order. Savoring the start of Shield of Winter this week.

message 19: by Juneta (new)

Juneta Key I started in the beginning, but I think there were already three in the series when I found it. I wait in anticipation for every release. I love the story world you created. I read any series you release. I like reading them in order. What a wonderful imagination you have.

message 20: by Patrice (new)

Patrice James I was browsing books online and discovered the GH series in the not so distant past. I was hooked after the first book so of course I read all the books in the series in a matter of days (and then re read them). It took me awhile though to start the PC series but I have not regretted it. I fell in love with those books as well but I have to be honest and say GH are my faves.

message 21: by Lulu (new)

Lulu I picked up the series around maybe 2008 or so (?) I think the first 3 or 4 books were out by then and I remember devouring them and then re-reading them immediately. It's been a fun ride.

message 22: by Angela (new)

Angela I discovered the Psy-Changeling world about two months ago. Usually the really good books have a long waiting list to check out the eBooks through our public library but Slave to Sensation was available right away. I was hooked! When I finished reading Shield of Winter I went back and re-read the series and bought most of the books I had originally checked out through the library. You did an incredible job building this world. I find it hard to enjoy an otherwise good paranormal book when the world-building is so poor. And in case you ever wonder which books your readers enjoy most, I have to tell you Visions of Heat and Mine to Possess are my favorites. Vaughn is so playful and Clay is so intense, it was a joy to read their stories. I'm actually really happy I didn't discover this series earlier because finding it just now allowed me to be able to read them all back-to-back. It killed me to have to wait for Shield of Winter and I am now eager for Aden's story. Now stop reading this and get back to your cookies and writing!
