New PPL Design, Hypericon, and Scares that Care
I feel like I've been running solid since Disneyland but not getting that much done. However, I did manage this design based on an Alison quote from the Pretty Little Liars season premier.Hypericon was fun. It was my first convention to be officially on the guest list, which was pretty cool. I sat back to back with Jack Ketchum who was very nice and friendly but writes scary stuff.
One of the things Jack and I talked about was our desire to leave the world a better place. So I thought I'd help spread the world about the Scares the Care Weekend in Williamsburg, VA June 27-29. Basically a horror convention for charity, featuring actors, authors, and other celebrities. I tend to avoid straight horror in my own reading and viewing, but I do support helping sick children and families in need.
I had some lovely conversations with other guests and attendees, but I didn't think to bring my camera. So no photos. Hypericon may have some later on their webpage or Facebook page.
Unrelated, I got my first genuinely negative review for . Sort of a relief in a way, since no book is going to be loved universally, but I am a bit bemused when reviewers seem surprised by the length being short. It's a novella. It's shorter than a novel, longer than a short story. The price reflects that, so... eh.
