ForeverLands in Your Mind
Everyone tells me I “gotta do it.” I have to jump on Worpress and launch my author blog. After all, how will my reader fans find me?
To which I answer, “Uh, they go to Amazon or BN.com and they buy my books?”
Nope! The readers want to know you as a person, I’m told. Your fans want to “follow you” the publishing experts explain to me.
To which I ask, “Are my fans aware that I’m not Jesus? Not follow-worthy?” I mean, Jesus only had 12 guys following him before one of the 12 (roughly 1/12th) turned him in to the authorities, and we all know how that ended. Granted, Jesus now has millions of followers and he’s got his name all over the sequel to the Torah, but I don’t want die for my art.
Be yourself, the experts say. Create a “voice” online and soon everyone will be searching for you and your books. Okay, so here I am in the ForeverLands of the internet posting random content that I can delete but will surely be backed up on an NSA computer or “virtual machine” (that sounds so sinister) FOREVER.
Is anyone out there?
