Would you fall in love? Or push him away? Knowing that your job is to protect the future god of mankind and die when he didn’t need you anymore was bad enough. But Cole insists on loving her. Finally she lets him in. She holds her guard though, she still isn’t sure if he can really change her fate. If he does will he still love her like he said he always would? With such a big promise surely he couldn’t keep it.

Then Sam, Whitney’s best friend, starts to believe him too. She is followed by the rest of the coven and they point out the changes to her. There was a shift waiting to happen and she could almost feel it. She tried to ignore it, hide it, after being an orphan for so long she knew not to get her hopes up. She distracts her mind by exploring love.

Whitney decides if she is going to let Cole in she wants to slowly experience life before she dies. Her choices upsets her friend to the point of a fight over Whitney’s future. She has a moment of clarity with this fight, maybe she can trust what’s going on here. Maybe not all places were the same as the terrible foster homes she lived in until found by her uncle. Finding out her past leads to her father and clearly there is tension between them that makes life more difficult to digest for her.
