Being such a large production, Doctor Who requires scores of actors to fill small and large parts in every episode. Sometimes those characters that start out as minor parts become something more, becoming fan favorites even if they don’t have much screen time.
Many appear only in one episode, but they play a pivotal role, advancing the story or being the heart of the episode. Others are fortunate enough to have their roles span more than one episode, some more than one series in the life of the show.
Simon Fisher-Becker is one such actor, well-known to Doctor Who fans as the robust Dorium Maldovar, the black market seller who famously procured the vortex manipulator for River Song “fresh off the wrist of a handsome Time Agent” and who warned the Doctor about his future and Trenzalore.
Along with his other numerous television and film roles, Fisher-Becker also has a one-man stage show called “My Dalek Has A Puncture,” where he talks about his years in the acting business as well as his role on Doctor Who.
This Friday, 4th April, Fisher-Becker will be staging his one-man show at the Gordon Craig Theatre at the Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre at 730pm. The show is open to all ages, but carries a parental guidance warning for mild adult themes occasional expletives.
For more information about tickets and directions to the theatre, please see the Gordon Craig Theatre website.
The show will also be held Saturday, 26th April, at the Misty Moon Gallery, Ladywell, Lewisham. See the Misty Moon website for show information!
