Sea otter web cam

I fell in love with sea otters years ago when my fiancé and I drove from San Francisco to spend the day in Monterey. As we sauntered around the waterfront, we saw an otter floating on his back, using his belly as a dining room table for his meal, a juicy clam. I was smitten, and remain under their spell. So you can imagine how happy I was to discover that the Monterey Aquarium now has a sea otter live webcam. http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/an... They also have webcams for other sea life on their website.
And here is another way to keep from doing productive work today. I spent some time this morning watching elephants meander around the waterhole. Much cooler than watching squirrels on my front lawn. http://www.africam.com/wildlife/tembe...

Misfit I love Monterey. Thanks for the link, and don't forget to check out the live kitten cam. Current batch of fosters: http://new.livestream.com/FosterKitte...

Sharon I do not dare go there, Misfit, or I'd end up spending the entire weekend watching the irresistible little creatures.

Misfit I agree, they can take up a lot of time. I keep the laptop close by, then I can look now and then when I'm reading.

Tedders I wish I could see the video.
Otters just kill me. My cat doesn't let me look at otter pics anymore... He thinks I'm shopping for his replacement.

Dorcas Oh I love otters! So adorable!

message 7: by Judith (new)

Judith Oh No, Otters! They are so cute. I happened to be watching while the zoo was feeding them and giving a brief orientation, two females and a rescued pup. They are otterly adorable. I know, that was an otterly ridiculous thing to say. I otter stop now.

Oh Misfit! I'm a gonner! I think it's the purring that really gets to me...

message 11: by Hana (new)

Hana Oh, oh! One of the kittens is lying on his foster dad's wrist and won't get off...one of my cats is 13 year old and she still does that with me! Especially when I'm updating Goodreads comments (the nerve of me).

Wait until they're let out of the crate and have full run of the playroom. And the escape attempts.

Sharon, sorry to thread nap. Otters are adorable too.

Hana I love them both. It remind me of last summer when I got hooked on the drama of two different osprey nest cams. Honestly though, otters and kittens are a lot cuter than ospreys, though a tad less interesting.

I've been watching his fosters for a little over a year. Adoption days are so bittersweet. There's always one happy ending that has me sniveling.

Hana IMO Cornell University has the best U.S. web cams for bird lovers. And I'm so glad I checked in here because albatross chicks have hatched and are growing up -- awesome!
