Frustration

Why is it so hard to write? As you have noticed by my very overdue sequel, I am having trouble finishing the book. I could blame it on my job, as teaching 4th grader 40 hours a week does take tremendous energy, but that would not be entirely true. I do have spare time, but I choose to spend it watching TV or hanging out with my friends instead of writing. To be perfectly honest, writing and publishing is terrifying. And having done it once makes it even more terrifying. You might think that having published once makes the subsequent books easier, but I find it so much harder. However, I will do it anyway. I will finish the book and publish, even though it will be a year later than I had hoped for. I will do it for the kind, patient people waiting for the sequel, but mostly I will do it so that I can stop being so hard on myself. I have a whole new respect for authors. No matter what I think of their books, at least they did it. And I will too. Starting tomorrow….
