Congratulations on the nomination. I really liked Capture and Surrender and the other books and plans sound really exciting too.
Vivian - Thank you! I loved writing C&S - it was one of the very few books that made me cry. No idea whether I'll win, but it's nice to have that "finalist" tag. :)And Counterpunch is quite the start into the genre, I'm honoured. :) I have Suckerpunch all laid out in my head, so hopefully that's written in 4 weeks or so. I'm aiming at 2-3k per day at the moment, and hopefully more like 4k per day once the corporate fog has completely lifted, so that book should easily happen in April.
RE: long books - I tend to think just about anything can benefit from a good pruning/trimming. Seems I prefer to write bonsai-type stuff... every scene needs to earn its keep. This book is *dense*, but I also have a number of very good people on the case who can hopefully help me see clearer. Right now, I only see cutting potential of maybe 5-10%.
Ije - Thank you! I'm starting to settle after a few frantic days worrying about money. LA Witt came over for three weeks and we spent a lot of time planning and talking and writing. I'm a lot more optimistic now generally and actually averse to going back into the corporate world.
Susan - Thanks. :) And yep, though I had to explain to my partner why it's a big deal. He's such a non-book person these days.
Congratulations on the nomination! Capture and Surrender is my favorite sequel in the series! And I'm so glad for you, Aleks!;)
Lena - Thank you! I also adore If It Drives (I guess I just love writers...), but C&S broke my heart. Here's us, writing an erotica novel that makes people cry... #MixedMessages
Woot, Congrats. You will now be known forevermore as a "Lambda Award Finalist". 8)I am so glad they saw the light. ((((big hugs))))
Reggie - LOl. I'm afraid I'll make the most of it in my own marketing. :) Already one of my favourite bookshops in London has agreed to put up a couple copies with "Lambda Finalist" and "local author" on it. I'm FAMOUS! :)

It worked, they wrote me a very kind email how to use it correctly(it was my fault!)
When we'll get the results of the awards? Curious!
*finger crossing* :))
Excellent. :)I think it's middle of the year. I try not to wait and just forget I'm nominated so I can concentrate on other things.

Good decision, I'll remember for your part too! ;))
Congrats Aleks, well deserved nom. Ooh now for the bird book, reminds me of my dream last year where we met up in Hyde Park to discuss. Could come true after all! :D
Congratulations on the nomination! And I'm so happy for you, Aleksandr :-D
Ah - freaky - have just started C&S (16% through) - so far so hot. SO, congrats - and you ARE famous BTW - I mean, all my friends have heard of you (um - that might be a joke). Anyway, yes, editing and keeping it tight is one thing, but I don't think length of novel matters. Sometimes you need a short hit, sometimes you need an intricate whole new world scenario. (I cut my teeth on LOTR so anything seems short after that.) Just go for it. Will be interesting to see/read a slightly different side to your writing. E

Second, yay on "Suckerpunch"! Since 'Counterpunch" was my first MM book, I'm probably a bit biased, but I love this world and can't wait to revisit it.
RE: 127K, don't cut too much. It isn't too long ,*sobs*
