Sad Day for Dan James and Double Dan Horsemanship

On February 1, 2014 I posted a blog and video of Dan James and Smart Little Mustang, aka Punk, and their fun, entertaining and inspiring performance at the 2014 Mustang Million.  Yesterday, Punk passed away from complications of colic.

I traveled from Idaho to Texas for that competition and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to see this talented pair in person.

I would just like to extend my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Dan James and Dan Steers of Double Dan Horsemanship. Punk was a lucky little mustang to have found his way into your hands, and although he left you too soon, he had the best possible place to learn to be a truly loyal partner.

I’ve sent Dan a copy of my book, The Horses I’ve Loved, A Memoir. I wrote this book in response to the death of my own beloved, horse, Race. I hope it might give him a bit of comfort.

I’m so sorry for your loss and look forward to visiting with you at the 2014 Road to the Horse in a couple of weeks.

Good Luck, Dan Steers!

Susan
