Release day on Saturday and I'm really looking forward to it.

Strange feeling when a story that started life early one summer morning on a train journey emerges into the light of day in February. Which is perhaps the shortest and cosiest month of the year, made for hot chocolate and snuggling up on the sofa with someone you love.

It all began with this sentence:

'So what are you going to do,' he said. 'Kill me again?'

Add in a bell tower - an artificer with an Icarus complex - a careless assassin - fear of heights and a dash of steampunk.
