I think we’ve established I like cover songs. This is one of my favorites mainly because it blows the original out of the water. Well, to my ears anyhow.

Taking the best of the Bakersfield Sound (I mean, there’s a whole lot of Buck Owens in Yoakum’s vocal style), rock ‘n roll, punk and the energy of the LA Sunset Strip scene of the 80′s, and you end up with a blistering country record that even die hard rockers should enjoy.
