Chapter 55: Circuit


No day. No night. But work and worship lent an orderly pattern to eternity, as natural as breathing. Taweel watched over the comings and goings in the Weavers’ district like a one-warrior Hedge. Well … if you counted Omri, two angels made a regular circuit.


“I could not read embroidery until I asked a Weaver,” Taweel murmured to his little passenger. “Who can teach me the patterns of the Worshipers’ rotation?”


Omri hummed along with the red-haired angel on the pedestal. His tenor rose sweetly to the sky, but Taweel turned away, dissatisfied.


Where was the Worshiper with blue hair?
