Old Year Sum Up and New Year Goals

As I stand on the edge of 2013 and prepare for the inevitable jump to 2014, I am thankful for what the Lord has brought to pass this year.
In February, I published my fifth book, Duty and inadvertently began a series.
March brought a new challenge. I started writing my first tragedy, a short story titled The Sword of Korma Monroe. I also began writing a sequel for Duty. It would eventually be called Honor.
April marked the end of The Sword of Korma Monroe and the beginning of Isbet's Disgrace. I suspect we will be seeing more of Isbet soon. :)
June brought the debut of the polished and always poised Wren into the world of print. She made a nice splash and is continuing to win over hearts. Also appearing was the next "Dentin" short story, Passing the Mantle, another tragedy.
July through August, I kept writing Honor and also squeezed in editing The King of Anavrea and The Reward of Anavrea.
Passing the Mantle was finished in September. It still hasn't been polished, but that is sure to happen in the new year.
October brought the revelation that I was actually writing a series, not just a sequel. I discovered my over arching plot line and began making plans.
November meant NaNoWriMo and a push to write 30K in Honor without changing my schedule too much. Due to sickness on the kids part I managed only 27K, but I was pleased with my results.
December heralded the end of the year. The end of the rough draft of Honor The beginning of editing and hopefully publishing three books this year.

What did I discover this year?
- God has given me the ability to write a novel in nine months pretty consistently. The Mercenary's Marriage (36K), Duty (77K), and Honor (91K) were all written within nine months. Oh, and my word count is climbing.
- I can write a tragedy.
What am I striving for (writing wise) in 2014?
Publishing: The King of Anavrea, The Reward of Anavrea, and Honor
Writing: Finishing the next two or three short stories in The Making of a Man (the anthology with Korma and Mantle), finishing Isbet's Disgrace, and writing the next novel in the Novels of Rhynan series. Possibly begin the third book in the Living Sacrifice series.
Editing: The Servant of Anavrea and then the first two books in the Living Sacrifice series.
Above all, I hope to use the gift God has given me to glorify him more each day. :)
Here is to a new year in the Lord's service!
