We've all had to deal with people who cut us off and don't listen to what we have to say. In order to manage people’s attention and attitude, you must first understand and manage your own mindset. Is it possible it’s your behavior that causes them not to listen?
A good place to start is to check whether your mindset is negative or positive.
Some of the questions you could ask yourself are:
Do I approach people with problems or solutions?
Do I hold an attitude of entitlement or gratitude?
Do I impose my agenda on them or am I mindful of their agenda?
Do I come across as self-serving or do I try to be of service to others?
If your approach matches the latter part of each question, then know that the other person's failure to listen is not due to anything you've done, so don't take it personally.
