Why You Need to be Honest with Yourself to Succeed

There are three common factors that derail professionals from their career tracks:

1.    Confusion
2.    Inner Conflict
3.    Cynicism

In order to move from confusion to clarity; conflict to confidence and cynicism to curiosity, we must be willing to look at the source of the derailment.

It is much easier to blame external sources for a career derailment, like managers or coworkers. But not taking ownership of your missteps is disempowering and holds you back from reaching your full potential.

Instead, ask yourself what you can do differently. Self-inquiry can be challenging, but the rewards are extremely satisfying.

For this month we will explore self-inquiry as a tool to transform personal perceptions. It helps us move forward and break away from old, habitual ways of thinking.

Before we begin to slice and dice the process, let us begin today with a simple yet profound exercise.  I invite you to see the greatest possibilities in yourself and everyone you meet today.  Each time you notice a cynical thought, take a deep breath and look at the situation through the lens of curiosity and trust.  Make note of the possibilities you begin to see!
