Philippines Typhoon

Survivors of a deadly Philippines typhoon are attempting to get access to food and water, while the death toll has risen. Authorities are struggling to cope with the aftermath of one of the strongest storms on record. Typhoon Haiyan was a maximum category-five storm with gusts of up to 235mph. Authorities say in the city of Tacloban, Leyte, alone, 10,000 could be dead and 'two out of five bodies' are children. Tens of millions of pounds worth of aid has been pledged by countries around the world. Aid agencies say as many as 10million people could be in need of shelter, clean water and food. Mortuaries set up in remaining buildings like churches are overrun with bodies.
