Sorry, gotta reblog this with proper attribution. No idea how it’s being attributed to Adams, who is a wonderful writer…but didn’t pen this. It’s Stephen Crane (1871-1900) and it’s a poem,


A man said to the universe:
“Sir, I exist!”
“However,” replied the universe,
“The fact has not created in me
“A sense of obligation.”
