Grammar Experts

If grammar experts had their way,

We'd have to cut out "leave it lay".

The same, I'm sure they'd all agree,

Would go for "hello, dear, it's me."

Imply, infer, connive, condone

We'd mostly have to leave alone

And only those deemed extra wise

Would be allowed to use comprise.
