The writing was very uneven – quite good at the beginning but deteriorating as it continued. This included the proofreading, which allowed numerous errors such a

A World of Curiosities by Louise Penny
"So disappointed with this latest offering by Louise Penny. As usual once I started I finished it in two days. The writing is as good as ever. However, I found the subject matter to be much darker and creepy than previously. I hope this direction does" Read more of this review »

"After an unfortunate turn of events in Maisie’s personal life, she finds herself in Gibraltar with another crime to solve. As always I enjoyed learning more about the history of Gibraltar and Spain as Maisie solves the case. "
Elegy for Eddie by Jacqueline Winspear
"Maisie Dobbs continues solving cases and Jacqueline Winspear continues to teach us about life in England between the two World Wars. This is definitely my least favorite of the series so far. It is important for future events in Maisie's life."
