I just finished Jack Coxall’s short story X. It’s a quick and emotional read about a young girl dealing with a world of “uglies” (She never says zombies or zombie apocalypse) The opening line is: “What follows is the contents of a journal found in the basement of a farmhouse somewhere in the English countryside…”

Since it’s a short story I don’t want to giveaway too much, however I will say Coxall’s descriptions of X’s emotions of a lonely, angry, terrified  fifteen year old girl ring true.

Great read and I highly recommend it.
