A Sneak Peek at My Next Novel

Dear Everyone,

As many of you know, last year I signed a contract with Berkley/Penguin for three books:  Gabriel's Redemption and two other novels.

When I finished Gabriel's Redemption, I began writing my next book. I'm pleased to say that it's coming along nicely and I look forward to sharing it with you. In fact, I hope that you enjoy it as much as the Gabriel series.

Because I'd already begun working on the next book by the time Redemption was being sent to the typesetter, I was able to approach my publisher and ask if an excerpt from the new book could be included at the end of Redemption.  I'm pleased to announce that my publisher said yes.

So when you purchase either an e-book or a paperback copy of Gabriel's Redemption, you'll be receiving an excerpt from my next book in the same volume.

And don't forget, that if you preorder Gabriel's Redemption, the Professor would like to give you a gift. You can read more about those gifts here.

If you're a Book Blogger, you can sign up to be part of the Book Blog Tour for Gabriel's Redemption here.   There are going to be some tour wide giveaways, sponsored by the Professor, himself. More details forthcoming.

All the best, everyone, and thank you for your continued support,

SR

Cleo I can't wait for Gabriel's Redemption. I am sure you're new novel will be written just as beautifully as the Gabriel Series. Very exciting. Congratulations SR.

Zoe A sneak peek ???
Technically, you are saying pre-order my book , so we then, can have a peek at your next project...
Ohhhh wait, September is National Shameless Promotion Month.
Well done SR.

message 3: by Terry (new)

Terry C'mon, Zoe...SR is hardly a "shameless promoter." He's writing something new and non-related to the series (I assume), which is a tad risky for any writer, and of course he would want to tantalize his current (and substantial) audience in order to introduce them to his new work. I thought it was a pretty smart move. And, I have no doubt it will be a fabulous read. BTW, SR has given us 2 'free' chapters of Redemption already, which I think is more than generous.

Hey Terry ,
Hope you doing well and don’t stress yourself about this.
It’s just my take on this post, which I found weird for some reason.
You know that I like SR’s work, so I’m following his updates as much as SR or his Em is allowing me, so yes I know
about those chapters.

My point of my reaction was that there is not a sneak peek in this post, it is just misdirection or misinformation, manipulation even, to hold reader’s attention and
as I said before to ask them to buy the third book in order to know more about the next one and I think this is not the right way.

Sorry but this is just my opinion and I don’t expect anyone to agree with this.

Samreen can anyone tell me where are those free chapters?

Sure, Samreen...they are on SR's web site: http://www.sylvainreynard.com

Scroll back a few postings and you will see them. Enjoy.

Ellen Totten Zoe,why are you so hostile about SR promoting his book this way?? SO WHAT!! He is in the business of writing novels to titilate our minds with amazing, compelling stories that I can't get enough of. To many of us who love, and appreciate his gift of enlightening our minds, we find no fault with this.I'm not ashamed to say I have been out of school for 55 years, and wish I was back because of him. If he is a teacher, his students are fortunate. :)

Hmm...who are you? do I know you from somewhere? How do you know me so well to jump to this conclusion.I don't see, how expressing your opinion makes you to accuse me of being hostile.I won't say more ,i will just leave it at that, because I respect your age.

message 16: by Ellen (new)

Ellen Totten Hi Zoe, don't worry about my age, I can take it. I took your remark about him promoting his new book as anything but supportive. Sorry it offended you. There's nothing wrong in having an opinion about a story, but I draw the line in finding fault with how an author wants to promote their work. He has the right to promote his work whichever way he chooses.I'm glad you enjoy his stories. Again, I'm sorry, Zoe. :)

Dear Ellie,I'm not offended ,whatsoever.
I'm not against SR promoting his work,in contrary ,but he does it all wrong. The title of this post is "A sneak peek at my new novel"so it means for me, that readers are expecting when they click on it, to read that said "sneak peek".
I have been, once a upon a time to bat heads with everyone when it came to SR,so I understand you and others obligation that you must defend him, because SR's books makes readers active and evoke responses that "normal" novels do not .But don't you worry,SR is old enough and smart enough to take criticism,or I hope he does, since He is in this business.Saying that,it reminded me a quote by Matthew Gregory Lewis “An author, whether good or bad, or between both, is an animal whom every body is privileged to attack: for though all are not able to write books, all conceive themselves able to judge them" , how true is that.

message 18: by Ellen (new)

Ellen Totten You hit on an interesting point that has puzzled me. I've never in all my years, and you know I'm old ;),ever reacted to an author, and his novels the way I, and others have with SR. What is it about this mysterious and affable man that elicits these feelings?I not only have a book crush on Gabriel, but I have an author crush on SR! And, he might be my son's age. LOL!Because of him, my husband and I are celebrating our anniversary next month in Florence, Italy. SR makes me feel young again. ;)

message 19: by Terry (new)

Terry Ahhh, Ellie!! You made me chuckle! SR's writing is so multi-layered, and thematically strikes a chord because we all have that mixture of darkness and light inside-- and SR expresses it for us so that we can accept it. And he makes us think. I don't think there's a greater gift for a writer to share with his readers. And besides, he's funny. :)

Hi Terry! He has the most endearing sense of humor, and I look forward to the book he and Heather are writing. I've got a smile on my face thinking about it, LOL! I love his generous heart as he helps those in need, and to us his fans. He really goes overboard to keep us happy by chatting on Twitter when time permits. He does have a life, and I'm sure it's difficult. He must be married to a very patient and understanding woman. She has to share her husband with thousands of swooning females. LOL! By the way, I wish you well tomorrow. Is it your last treatment? Saying prayers to St. Jude for you. xo

Well, this is the million dollars question that we all ask our selves :) Do I dare to find answer to this ?
Nahh,I just will stand by and indulge my self at his creative mind ,empathy and integrity ,even though he doesn't have the most participative temperament ;)
Have a wonderful time in Florence Ellie !.

message 22: by Terry (new)

Terry Yes, Ellie, tomorrow is my last chemo treatment. You guys (including SR) have been praying for me all along, and I swear that's why I've done so well. Thank you. :) Please keep St. Jude busy. I hear he has a special affection for nice Jewish girls. lolol

And, yes, SR is a very nice guy-- and it's great to see nice guys finish *first*, as SR has certainly done through his work and humor.

We are all God's creation regardless of what we call Him. And when it comes to special prayers we might say to various saints, they listen to everyone. :) xo
