What do you wish you could read?

As a follow-up of my last blog post asking for recs I now want to ask you guys something:

What do you wish would be written? What are things you've been wishing you could read but you can't find anywhere?

Not necessarily plots of stories (although I guess that works too) but mostly I'm curious if there are themes or even small details that bug you when you read a story and you wish wouldn't be in there, or (even better) things you wish WOULD be in there?

Like how I asked about awesome characters, do you wish wounds would be taken care of in a medically believable manner? Do you wish people wouldn't jump straight to "I love you" the second they acknowledge attraction? I'm throwing those out as the first ideas but be creative!

Whatever you wish, I'd love if you commented!

Partially I'm just curious, and partially I've been thinking it could be fun to write short stories/drabbles that try to meet your criteria, if anyone mentions anything that pops an idea into my head. (If you'd be okay with it)

And partially I thought, maybe you'll find someone else who wished the same as you and maybe they'll even have a rec for you :)

Silkeeeeeereads I will get this started. I would live to red more series like ICOS
,Special Forces and Cut & Run. I don't know the dystopia versus war versus, FBI matters. What DOES matter is the characters burying themselves in my heart and mind in that all consuming way that makes me want to do harm to whomever tries to interrupt my reading.

Em I like a long drawn out series, with plenty of angst, action, great character detail and suspense....right through to the end. I like believable fantasy, such as The Rifter series, but have also read some amazing series like SF, ICOS, and Cut & Run. I really like to feel that I've been to hell and back but at the end of it, it was worth it;)

Ais Thanks guys! You're both like me-- I think that's what I've been wanting to read lately too.

I was going to say it's the same for me but then it got me thinking. The funny thing is, for whatever reason, while I really enjoy dark series and psychological thrillers and don't mind violence at all, and also like to read post-apocalyptic or dystopian stories, I don't like reading stories actually set in the midst of war. I find them to be too depressing no matter how well they're written. Kind of strange to think about.

Me too! It's the best when it doesn't end about half a book early and coast the rest of the way on platitudes and inanities. I like it when my heart races until the end :)
