TODAY, MONDAY, AUGUST 12TH AT 1PM ET, NPR MUSIC HOSTS SLEEPER LISTENING PARTY AND LIVE Q & A WITH TY!  Since announcing the release of Sleeper , all's been pretty quiet on the western (Ty Segall) front, relatively speaking, of course. We are talking Ty here! Without sharing any pre-release tracks or official videos (wha?!), we've been keeping the lid on nice and tight leading up to Sleeper's imminent release. Until now, that is! It's time to flip that lid, reward your sweet (doctored) patience and let everyone experience the latest. Over the past five years, Ty has managed to evolve his love of riffs 'n' rhythm into an astonishing number of directions, and Sleeper, the follow up to last year's Twins , continues in that realm. Recorded and mixed in Ty's San Francisco apartment right before bugging out for Los Angeles, Sleeper, embodies its own space, reaching you in a form you haven't quite heard before from Ty.
Beginning this morning, Sleeper has been streaming in its entirety via NPR Music's "First Listen" series. As if that weren't enough, a few hours from now, NPR Music  will also host a Sleeper "Listening Party." Hosts Bob Boilen and Robin Hilton will begin playing the album at 1pm ET and then Ty will join them just after 1:30pm ET for a live Q & A where he'll be asked fans' questions, plus some of their own. It's not often we get Ty out of the studio or off the road for something of this nature, so be sure to tune in and hear what Ty has to say about this new record. Then, after listening to the live interview, you can go right back to streaming Sleeper again and again, leading right into that August 20th release date on Drag City.

Those who experienced the Sleeper band live at Pickathon can attest, these shows are not to be missed! Joining Ty on acoustic guitar, is Charles Moothart on drums and electric guitar, Sean Paul Presley on acoustic guitar and Andrew Luttrellon electric bass. This is a Ty Segall live incarnation unlike any encountered before and it's only happening one time at various cities throughout the country. All dates are below.
