My RunwayApp Fashion & Tech Event in SF August 15th!

In San Francisco next Thursday, August 15th? Come to this amazing event, and sign books with me afterwards!

My Runway: I am really excited to share that I will be participating in a San Francisco panel next week about the blending of fashion and technology! Event information here and read on…

There are a lot of really great examples of where this is already happening, like mobile cases designed by Kate Spade, Swarovski’s crystal 4GB USB drives and wearable fitness. We’re going to discuss what this means for designers, brands and consumers. 

I’ll be joined by some great personalities including Sarah Austin, the Internet’s first “life-caster” for the Justin.tv test runs, and the producer of Pop17, a Web series documenting Internet culture.

Also there is Paul Friedland, senior director of marketing at Levi Strauss & Co, Stephanie Rahlfs, the owner of Stiletto Jungles Enterprises, and Li Gong, vice president of product & head of My Runway, at the software company SAP.

For those of you not yet familiar, My Runway is a great new (and free!) social shopping app that allows fashion enthusiasts to follow the brands they love, and get personalized updates on what’s new, what is trending, and what’s on sale.
