One off my bucket list

A few nights ago, right around dusk, Guy and I were taking in the air on the back porch, and both our attentions were grabbed by a tiny little thump against one of our mature maples. A hunching schlumping figure about the size of a large chipmunk ran up it, and I think I saw my first flying squirrel.

My Grandpa would be thrilled. I know I am.

And thank you everyone who chimed in yesterday about the birds nest fungi! I do believe that’s what I’ve got. Love it!

Jurnee I have rescued & raised 4 flying squirrels in the last 9 years and have yet to see one in the wild. You & yours are lucky to have seen the little bugger. The one I have now was found unconscious inside a resort 30 miles away at the foothills of the Smokey Mountains.
BTW I love love love your books. I can't get enough,I've been known to reread the series before the new one comes out. Then when I get my hands on it seems I read it too fast, then I bummed it's over.

THanks, Jurnee! I'm so glad you're enjoying my work. I figured I was lucky to have seen one.
