Release Day Giveaway (A Bit Early!)

My latest novel, On Distant Shores , is scheduled to release August 1! However, many on-line retailers have already shipped, and the book is on the shelves at many stores, including my local store, Graceland Christian Bookstore in Pittsburg CA!

To celebrate, I'm holding a giveaway! To go with the "Shores" theme, leave a comment mentioning your favorite vacation spot - or dream vacation spot - and I'll enter you to win your choice of either On Distant Shores (which I can mail to you now) or In Perfect Time , the third book in the Wings of the Nightingale series (available August 2014).

Here's the blurb for On Distant Shores :

Lt. Georgiana Taylor has everything she could want. A boyfriend back home, a loving family, and a challenging job as a flight nurse. But in July 1943, Georgie’s cozy life gets more complicated when she meets pharmacist Sgt. John Hutchinson. Hutch resents the lack of respect he gets as a noncommissioned serviceman and hates how the war keeps him from his fiancée. While Georgie and Hutch share a love of the starry night skies over Sicily, their lives back home are falling apart. Can they weather the hurt and betrayal? Or will the pressures of war destroy the fragile connection they’ve made?

Here's  a "shore" photo...the beach at Anzio, Italy, which we visited in July 2011. In On Distant Shores, Hutch serves on this beachhead under heavy bombardment. Today it's a vacation playground, as it should be.

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment about your favorite vacation spot, along with your email address in the following format: sarah [at] sarahsundin [dot] com. US and Canada only, please. No purchase necessary, void where prohibited by law, etc, etc. I'll post the winner on Wednesday, August 31, 2013.

Emily Kidd My dream vacation was for the longest time Prince Edward Island, Canada. I got to go there a couple of summers ago, and it is still my dream vacation. When we left the Island, I was "in the depths of despair". The beach was beautiful, stretching on forever, but there was something on the shore that isn't pictured in postcards - jellyfish! The islanders said it was just the way the tide was being blown in, and that it wasn't like that all of the time. When I go back, I hope they won't be such a hazard! But even still, P.E.I. is a cherished memory that will last for a lifetime.

Sarah Sundin How wonderful! I imagine you saw Anne and Diana and Gilbert around every bend. I'd love to go there some day!

Emily Kidd Yes, "kindred spirits aren't so scarce as I used to think"! If you ever get the opportunity to go, I hope you seize it. God bless!

Catherine A dream came true when I vacationed in Paris for a week. The architecture was amazing, the people were friendly, the Louvre was amazing. Can not wait to hopefully get back there someday. Another place of beauty was Venice, Italy. There is a serenity in both these places which belies the turmoil and destruction in WWII. I loved both places.

Sarah Sundin Hi Catherine! What a wonderful vacation! I love Paris too - and the Louvre, oh my! When we went to Italy, we didn't get to Venice, but someday...
