I’m gearing up for a very exciting Saturday: off to London to take part in the great Get Reading Festival in Trafalgar Square. Get Reading is a campaign launched by the Evening Standard in association with the charity Beanstalk: it aims to help the 1000s of children in London who struggle with reading or don’t have books of their own. On Saturday Trafalgar Square’s being taken over for a mammoth Readathon. There’ll be contributions from many authors and celebrities, including Hugh Grant, Anthony Horowitz, Malorie Blackman, Rupert Everett… and me.
I’ll be reading from The Amulet of Samarkand on-stage at 1.45 pm, and will be signing books a little earlier, between 12.30 and 12.50 pm. The festival itself is FREE and takes place between 11.00am and 5.00 pm.
So: if you’re in or around London…. don’t just stand there, come and join us!
