Amazon’s Kindle Worlds Program is Live!

The Silo Saga is now open for exploration! You can write WOOL fan fiction and upload it for review. And get this: I found out today that a WOOL story was the first through the gates and first accepted! I feel so lucky and honored to have been invited into this program, and even luckier to have talented writers out there who care to explore these worlds. The fact that some of them are now making history is just too cool for words.

If you want to read an incredible write-up on how all of this got started, you should check this out. It’s an amazing read on the LOOW group of fan fiction writers. Really amazing stuff going on right now in the world of publishing. So fortunate to be a part of it all.

Katy This makes me happy. I've never read fan fiction. That interview/article will likely change that. So many stories, and well done ones, at that. I was really skeptical of the Worlds program. But it sounds great.

EP I am so excited about this! I love FF!

Kirsteen I love that you're in support of FF. I personally think it helps people practice their creativity but some authors are against it.

Shane Murray Except that David Adams can't get involved since he isn't in the U.S.

Sad :(

human I want to be excited about Amazon's government approved monopoly, but I can't.

Jed In hopes of encouraging new writers, I hereby commit to buy every fan-fic book set in the Wool universe. I expect first books to be 99¢.

Jed, you rock. I think some of them will be $1.99, but I agree that more new artists deserve our support. And you'll be rewarded with some great reads. Many of these stories are as good, if not better, than the source material!

Jed I really advise brand new authors to take the 99¢ route for their first book. At 99¢ I (and I suspect many others) will buy instead of sampling and you'll be discovered more quickly (if you're good). Just an opinion of course.

Misty I look forward to WOOL fan fiction. FF adds to the legacy of the original creator of any universe. Like making a TV show from a brilliant movie - its fun and entertaining but can't quite compete with the original. Granted the original author doesn't profit monetarily, but they profit in the loyalty and worship of rabid fans! Priceless!
