We have a white tiger coming to our tour! He's just a baby. He will be only four weeks old at the time of the tour which likely means you can interact with him more. I'm so excited we can get him! Do not get me wrong I love your books I just wish you would use your rising fame for better conservation. Using a white tiger cub is a really bad idea. If you truly love tigers and want to conserve them in the wild then you should not do this. You are giving the public the perception that they can just get them as cubs and play with them like they are pets. I wonder if you have researched how overpopulated captive tigers have become. People buy and sell these cats as cub’s because they think they are cute and cuddle. Then when the cat gets big and dangerous it ends up in a horrible situation. They are locked away in filthy cages, sold to road side zoos, other breeders, canned hunts (where they are corned with dogs and shot and killed) or if they are lucky enough in an already overwhelmed sanctuary that takes care of them. Also by promoting the popularity of white tigers, backyard breeders to cheap to DNA test for the recessive gene, inbreed Bengal tigers to get those white cubs. Hundreds of deformed and sick cubs are born and discarded, in order to get that one out of a hundred white cub they can sell. I wish you would focus more of your efforts on conservation not exploiting tiger cubs. I have worked at a tiger sanctuary and the first rule they taught us is they are not pets and should never be treated as one. Our goal was to teach the public they should never even consider trying to keep one as a pet. At my current job I spend every day at my job uncovering and finding CITES protected wildlife parts including tiger parts. It is heart breaking every time I do find something relating to tigers. Please reconsider using a white tiger cub for your event.

Hi Amanda,Thanks for writing me. I liked the video. This animal expert is going to talk about just those things and I hope people ask a lot of questions about that. He just rescued a white female from a local safari type place and he said she hadn't been well taken care of. A lot of my information in my books came from this place and I think they do a good job of informing people of the facts. Needless to say after this series is over I can safely say I'll be moving away from cats for good. Smile. On a personal note, I have a hard time deciding how I feel about zoos and wildlife parks. In fact, its one of my questions for debate on the study guides I wrote. I feel terribly sorry for the animals and at the same time I can also say I can appreciate them and our world more for learning about them and visiting those types of places. I wish everyone was as educated about the subject as you are. Your passion really shows through and I appreciate your thoughts. Look up this group and tell me what you think.
