Mixing Meat and Dairy - Bible Scriptures on Meat and Milk Mixtures and Jewish Dietary Laws

Mixing Meat and Dairy - Bible Scriptures on Meat and Milk Mixtures and Jewish Dietary Laws

'Mixtures of milk and meat' in Judaism are prohibited according to Jewish law;' according to kashrut, based on the following three Bible Scriptures.

'According to the Talmud, these almost identical references are the basis for three distinct dietary laws:'

1. The prohibition against cooking a mixture of milk and meat

2. The prohibition against eating a cooked mixture of milk and meat

3. The prohibition against deriving any benefit from a cooked mixture of milk and meat.

'You are not to boil a young animal in its mother’s milk' (Exodus 23:19).

'Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk' (Exodus 34:26).

'Do not eat anything you find already dead. You may give it to the foreigner residing in any of your towns, and they may eat it, or you may sell it to any other foreigner. But you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk' (Deuteronomy 14:21).

So these Bible Scriptures don't blatantly say we are never to mix meat and dairy. Mixing meat and dairy happens daily throughout the country at every hamburger restaurant and fast-food establishment (not that you should consult any of them food good health).

I learned in Bogota, Colombia not to drink milk after eating beans - nasty stomach pain and explosion later :o(

The local Colombian youth urged me not to repeat this mistake.

Mixing meat and dairy will NOT separate you from the love of God, keep back God's blessing from your life, nor send you to hell. I'm sure some religious zealot (foolishly) has preached this a means to manipulate God's people into compliance. But God is a lover not a control freak. Furthermore God created all things and called them "good," when rightfully used for their intended purpose in the ecosystem.

Jewish dietary laws can be rigid and frigid so take them with a grain of salt, better yet the salt of God's Word to know truth from fiction and dead religious tradition (Mark 7:13) the latter cripples you spiritually.

Should you eat ice-cream with meat scraps? As you wish. Some like bacon with everything. It certainly might taste good.

The American food industry will do anything to pinch pennies and make a buck, while making Americans ill in the process. Buyer beware of "pink slime," "techno tuna," and other dirty little secrets within the fatal "food" industry.

A country that claims to be Christian such as America should stand up for consumers and stop allowing such food adulterations to occur under its watch, poisoning and polluting the food chain, and making Americans ill and predisposed to diseases dying prematurely.

Meat in the U.S. needs to be cooked thoroughly as Jewish dietary laws advise. Why? Because the USDA allows salmonella in meat, thinking consumers know to cook it thoroughly and that when doing so the salmonella will die.

Unfortunately many like to eat their meat nearly raw, rare, or medium rare (NOT fully cooked through) and subject their intestines (where two-thirds of your human immune system exists) to parasitic infestation compromising their health.

I'm a parasite killer and have perfected an AWESOME parasite cleanse if you need help with this, but you must pay me well (or just purchase my book or videos) since it is a NASTY job I personally already already endured this for 19 months of experimentation to figure out what truly and and naturally works. I don't care to get too deep in the stuff again for mere entertainment, or pleasure. It took me 2 years and 70 countries of pain and suffering to learn these lifesaving truths. Now it is time to live life again!

Anyhow back to mixing meat and dairy. It's funny how easy well meaning religious folks and Jewish dietary laws (which I greatly cherish and value) can add bits and pieces of their own personal interpretations to Bible Scriptures and then teach them as Gospel truths applying them as another law to burden God's people with. Please don't be such a person, or religious leader; as such just further alienates people from a living, loving, liberating God.

I think the USDA has certainly taken Deuteronomy 14:21 to heart as there basically are no food safety standards whatsoever when selling meat abroad (unlike domestic food regulations). I think this is bad foreign policy and perhaps reveals a bit of God's tendency at times to be a bit passive aggressive perhaps (at least in the Old Testament in a dispensation of law).

As a former fitness trainer, nutritional consultant and health coach; it is a known documented fact in America among Christendom Seventh Day Adventists adhering to the dietary laws of Moses (who eat less meat, abstain from pork and live more disciplined lives) live healthier and longer.

Nevertheless knowing in Christ we are free from the law and at liberty to eat whatever we want (Acts 10:13; 1 Timothy 4:1-3); I do so gladly WHEN I WANT. But it is also worth mentioning, I ALSO WANT to LIVE STRONG and LIVE LONG. Therefore I appreciate, value and esteem the law of God (Romans 7:12,14), knowing it to be a good dietary guideline to keep my body free from parasitic infestation and illness (if I will but listen to and obey it).

The law being spiritual and good (Romans 7:12,14) is worth studying, knowing, remembering, and heeding when you feel so inclined and spiritually led to do so - for your betterment of course.

'For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death' (Romans 8:2).

'But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus' (Galatians 3:22-26).

Yet God does not change (Malachi 3:6), which tells me Christ came to save mankind from their sins, cleanse them within, and empower us by the His Holy Spirit that rose Christ from the dead (Romans 8:11) so we can be strengthened body-mind-spirit to live victoriously.

Living victoriously does not mean living lasciviously and disobediently, but rather being a mature disciple who is harnessed by God's Word and governed by His Holy Spirit.

''Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven' (Matthew 5:17-19).

So as it pertains to mixing milk and meat, we are free to do so. But it may not always prove beneficial for your digestive system.

Dr. Hiromi Shinya, founder of the colonoscopy who has been inside 300,000 stomachs learned early on as a father when his two children and wife had dermatitis, that milk (dairy) was a huge contributing factor.

Therefore this warrants further study beyond just the mixing of meat and milk.

Meat is dead food, slowing down the body's processes; unlike living raw fruit and vegetables that provides immediate energy readily digestible and absorbable within 30 minutes of consumption.

Some claim we need meat for protein, but grains, legumes, beans, vegetables also have protein and too much protein throws your body into an acidic toxic state, junking up your kidneys, slowing down your organs, and causing your bones to excrete calcium (osteoperosis) to rid itself of toxins.

So use discretion and exercise moderation in whatever you eat. Paracelsus the father of toxicology said all substances are potentially toxic if taken in excessive dosages.

Our bodies (as God's Word teaches do not lie - 'nature itself teaches us' [1Corinthians 11:14]) reveal the state of our health - physically, mentally and spiritually. It is worth remembering 'godliness is profitable in ALL THINGS' (1Timothy 4:8) and if our health is suffering, something is missing from our "spirituality" and feeble Christianity.

Likewise if our Jewish dietary laws become a source of alienation, offense, and stumbling block; how can our spirituality be relevant and salient to impact society? (see Romans 14)

Christ (the Jewish Messiah) came to LIBERATE us body-mind-spirit, but to experience liberation physically you cannot abuse your body and live in ignorance daily (Hosea 4:6).

Be free! Live happy! Eat exuberantly and carefree! But be wise on occasion and thing long-term concerning your health when evaluating all food options and choices to maximize both enjoyment and personal wellness.

Barbara In regards to this article, Mark 7:13 Yeshua was speaking to the Pharisees concerning netilat yadayim (blessing over the washing of the hands). When he referred to all food being clean he didn't change the definition of food in Leviticus 11, he declared the state of food being clean regardless of saying the customary prayers. All three verses that you presented concerning boiling a young animal in it's mother's milk are mishpatim, laws and ordinances found in Torah (Gods word). Do not make judgement against any Jew or Torah observant Jew/messianic believer, because of obedience to God's commands. Yeshua set us free from the violations to Torah. Never did he speak against obeying His commandments. Todah rabbah

Paul Yes, you are free to discover the dietary laws are true, useful, beneficial and healthy. When violated, you are also free to get diarrhea at times due to poor health decisions. I'm no legalist. I eat whatever I want and whenever I want. Yet, I'm also no fool and recognize the importance of dietary laws (the more I live and travel) as seafood has a lot of arsenic and bottom dwellers collect heavy metals in the sea, which can be toxic and deadly. Thus, praying and exercising discernment can be a life and death matter in this day and age when environmental toxins are devastating the earth and food supply.

Barbara We follow Leviticus 11 not because of health reasons, but because of holiness. God calls us to be holy because He is holy. Obeying His commandments sets us apart unto Him as a holy people. HaShem Yeshua hoshianu...in the name of Yeshua our messiah shalom

Paul The apostle Paul, Pharisee of the Pharisees (Acts 23:6), rightly explained: "God's law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good" (Romans 7:12). Thus, the Word of God is holy, just, good, profitable and beneficial for health and well-being (1Timothy 4:8).
