Danish electronic artist Trentemøller has debuted a brand new 7" single 'Never Stop Running (feat. Jonny Pierce of The Drums)' with Noisey to kick off a set of European dates from London to Germany where he was handpicked to open for Depeche Mode. The track is taken from his forthcoming third album,
Lost
, out this September on his own label In My Room. 'Never Stop Running' pulsates with Trentemøller's unique production while melding together with Pierce's expressive vocals. The video captures the vibe of the tune through the direction of cinematographer Frederik Jacobi, who took a camera to Los Angeles to "listen" to people and capture moods to blend with the visual space of the video.
Trentemøller, the alias of Anders Trentemøller, "transcends genres with cinematic scope" says NME who describe his "captivating complexity" of his music and sound design. It's been a long and exciting way from his debut LP, The Last Resort, alongside projects like The Trentem øller Chronicles and Remixed/Reworked , to his second record Into The Great Wide Yonder , which gained praise from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, SPIN, XLR8R , and more. The musical evolution of this Danish musical mastermind on his forthcoming third album was not a linear progression, but one characterized by twists and turns along with his development of a full live band that has toured the globe with great success.
After a groundbreaking performance at Coachella in 2011, which had Yahoo! calling him the "ultimate underdog, stunning all onlookers and becoming the toast of the fest...the biggest revelation of the entire weekend," Trentemøller embarked on a set of coast-to-coast US tours with his full live band, featuring guest appearances by expert theremin player Dorit Chrysler and Coco Sumner (I Blame Coco), concluding with the band's late night TV debut on Late Night with Carson Daly. Stay tuned for more details on Lost and Trentemøller's return to the US to follow.
