Chewed Out

Things were fine, the day was great


Then stepped in, that oft cruel fate


Quiet and calm, ‘twas a sneaking thing


Aided on by the wearer of a wedding ring



I came home, the workday done


Groggy and tired, evening had begun


My wife was no place to be found


To the kitchen I went, for a Fudge Round



There’s nothing quite like a pre-dinner treat


But an empty Little Debbie box revealed defeat


I thrashed, I cried, I cursed at life


But quietly so as not to tip off my wife



She could have come and saved the day
