Chapter 29: I Can’t Stand Up For Falling Down
As guests arrived at Adam’s after-party from Play LA, the word quickly spread throughout the group about Val’s big role. Though she accepted all of the congratulations and well-wishes with a smile and a thank you, Val wasn’t in the mood to celebrate. She poured herself a large glass of a delicious cabernet-shiraz blend (Adam always had the best wine), and wandered the fringes of the party, tired of pretending that she was as happy about the London opportunity as everyone seemed to be for her.
