Confident and Secure
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
Proverbs 14:26
Solomon verse has it all when it comes to our emotional stability. By trusting in the Lord, we gain confidence in knowing that HE is in control. We no longer try to dictate our life's results but trust in Him to lead us. Our worries are relieved when we believe in the words of our Savior (Matthew 6:25-34). Long before the song was popular, He told us: "Don't worry, be happy".
And last part of the verse is the best. No matter how confident we may be, the world will continue to assail us every step of the way. It is comforting to know the God is our refuge - nothing can win against His protection! If we are close to God, we are protected.
The verse promises us to be confident and secure every step of our life. However, the verse has an "if-then" statement. The "if" part requires us to fear the Lord and follow his will. The rewards are better than anything this world can offer. Have you made the choice to be confident and secure by turning your life over to God?
