Keith's book, Never Eat Alone, has changed my life forever. I grew up in a drug-infested neighborhood in Pittsburgh, PA, where I believed that the only way to be successful was to sell drugs. Practically everyone I knew sold drugs or struggled to work a dead-end job. Gang life was deeply rooted in my neighborhood and as a result I joined as a way to escape the problems within my household. The gang life violence I experienced has taken the lives of 56 of my peers and nearly cost me my life on two occasions, once at 16 yrs old and the other at 22 yrs old.
