The Kickstarter for Raif's Story is now officially 20% over. We are one-fifth of the way through the pledge period and only 15% funded--so I'm starting to get worried. I'd figured it would be a slow burn, not an overnight success, and I was worried before I began if it would fully-fund or just "come close."
The way Kickstarter works, it's a case of "close but no cigar," meaning either we fully-fund or nothing happens. No one's card is charged unless the entire amount is pledged. The project won't pay me one penny unless it pays me the entire $4950 (that's the $5500 amount minus the 5% fee to Kickstarter and additional fees to Amazon for processing the payments). It's all or nothing.
If the project ends up not fully-funding, I won't be able to get the book out this year. I simply don't have time or resources to do it all myself or to hire people out of my own pocket. I'm struggling to make my own pockets, let alone fill them. I need your help to make Raif's book happen.
