13 SA Support Troops Killed in a Car

Ousted Central African Republic president Francois Bozize, flees after rebels take the capital Bangui. Zuma said that 13 South African troops had been killed in clashes with the Seleka rebels on the outskirts of Bangui. South Africa's sent a 200-soldier contingent to Central African Republic in January to support the government troops after the rebels launched an offensive in early December. Zuma said "As a member of the African Union, South Africa rejects any efforts to seize power by force." At the same time Zapiro's cartoon notes that Bozize had come to power in a military coup and questions why the 13 SA support troops were killed. The answe to the question is given in the article from the Daily Maverick - CAR fiasco: This is what we get for letting our government prop up a nasty dictatorship.
