Concerning Games, Torment, and a Sense of Play

Let me tell you a story.


Well, actually, let me tell you a story that consists of several stories. And it’s *about* stories.


This should not surprise anyone, really. This is what I do.

Back in 2009 I attended Gen Con as author Guest of Honor. It was one of my first GOH gigs, and at a convention I’ve been attending off and on for most of my adult life.


That said, I was still a pretty new author in 2009. I only had one book out, and had only been published for two years. People came to my sign...

Jay Merin That's exactly how I feel about writing. The most productive I am, the most fun I have, is when I don't know what's going to happen next. I write better with less pre-planning than with more. And I've had to put aside established, more though-out projects at times to start something completely off-the-cuff just to rediscover the love and fun of writing.

Lucas Yay! This news made me so ridiculously happy. I loved hearing Pat's thoughts on video games on The Story Board and agree strongly on most of them. Really looking forward to this game (as well as, eventually, that Bast story).
