Rise of the Zyfoids
When I had the basic outline to the story about the Zyfoids, I never thought it would be so much to cover. For example, the first part is all about the plague that strikes the world. A third of the people are killed off by this new super-bug before its stopped in its tracks. I thought the back-story of this plague would be about four or five chapters. I was so wrong. I'm on chapter 12 now and I've just introduced the Zyfoids into the picture as they march down the streets and clean up after the horrific disease. The streets are littered with glass from looters and blood from the dead.
Now that I've introduced the Zyfoids, I think 'wow, now the story can really start focusing on the robots.' Wrong again. I can't just jump to the future where everyone is okay with robots being completely integrated in their lives and working along side them. Currently, I'm giving the story of how the humans react to the Zyfoids. They're down right scared of the idea at this point. It's going to be a long road for the Zyfoids as they try to gain the trust of their human counterparts.
Eventually, I'll get to the kidnapping and the epic battle at the end. However, I'm loving the story so far. It's been action packed from the very beginning and I have a feeling that it will be all the way to the end.
