The Zyfoids
Okay, so I'm getting ready to start a new story. This one is going to be a sci-fi thriller and could be more than one book when its finished.
It takes place in the year 2325. There's a plague that wipes out a third of the population of the entire world. The scientists of the future do create a cure for the disease and stop it in its tracks.
However, with a third of the population gone, society will be forced to take a huge step back in the technological advancements they have made, unless they release the Zyfoids.
Zyfoids are the robots of the future. They look, act, feel and learn just like people do. Looking out over the streets of New York, with people walking shoulder to shoulder, a third of them will be Zyfoids but, you can't tell which ones are robots and which ones are humans.
With much convincing from the worlds greatest scientists and several advisers, the president reluctantly gives the command to release these Zyfoids. Its a full proof plan, or so they think.
Many years after the Zyfoids become comfortable in their new lives and the humans have grown accustomed to their new counter-parts, there is an incident in Japan. A few Zyfoids rise up to conquer the humans. They're subdued right away and taken off-line, however, the humans realize quickly that this could happen again somewhere else.
Over the next few years, the government begins taking the Zyfoids out of the population a few at a time. They can't destroy them because the humans are too dependent on them. Instead, they take them to a remote location to work under supervision in factories.
The Zyfoids don't understand why this is happening to them. They had homes, mortgages, jobs they loved and friends. All they want are they're lives back. They don't want to fight with the humans but they soon realize they have no choice if they want to get back to the way things were. They finally gain enough courage and rise against the situation. It quickly becomes an epic battle between robot and humans.
Who will win in the end? Will the humans overcome yet another obstacle and remain the dominant race of Earth? Or, will the Zyfoids win the battle and inherit the Universe?
