Hey Gail! Huge fan of your work here since your first issue of Birds. First off, as a queer feminist, I want to thank you for your thoughtful stories, well-crafted characters and use of your voice to work for equality both on and off the comics page. Ha

This is a very thoughtful question and thank you for your kind words!

The books I am really proud of that are a little less talked about are probably Gen13 and Welcome to Tranquility.

I think Gen13 is some of the best stuff I’ve written in superhero comics, it’s some very meaningful stuff to me personally, about how easily kids are marginalized and discarded. How they are seen as powerless when untethered to an adult. And how society so quickly wants to exploit them in various ways.

Welcome to Tranquility is one of my favorite projects, a book about a retirement town of superheroes and villains. I love it, it’s very complex story telling.

REALLY hidden gems are things like Rose and Thorn, a book about the effects of Unattached Child Syndrome on young people (I think that book has been swiped from a lot, never properly credited) and my short but fun LEGION arc, that I had a blast doing.

Hope that helps!
