Tabbruis was there by Charmeine’s side like always.  Anticipating her need for rest, he asked, “Would you like a ride?”
“No, but I would like to walk with you.”
He smiled and offered his elbow for her to take.
Soon they were up in their Master Suite.
Charmeine began to take her clothes off.
When Tabbruis was done getting ready for bed, he looked over his shoulder.  Charmeine was asleep lying back on the bed still half-dressed.
Tabbruis furrowed his brow in concern.  He thought, ‘She has been through so much.  Maybe her body is trying to catch up and needs rest.’  He got her ready for bed and left her yellow camisole on.  Tabbruis put her under a sheet so she could sleep comfortably.  He marveled at her beauty.  Her brown skin radiated heat.  Her golden hair lit up in the fast rising sun.
There was a quiet knock at the door.  He put on his robe and opened the door.  It was Thomas with a cart of food.  He saw Charmeine was sleeping and whispered to Tabbruis, “I can come back later.”
They heard, “No need for that Thomas, I’m starved.”
Charmeine was still lying on her pillow and did not move.
“Thomas, thank you very much.  Please get some rest now also.”
“Yes Tabbruis, this is my last stop.  Rest well and sleep with the Angels my friends,” he smiled and left.

“Angels?  Geez Louise… He’s got to be kidding,” she muttered.
“He means well, Charmeine.  I am glad you are awake enough to eat.”
Tabbruis brought a tray over to her, and he poured his supper in a crystal glass.  Then he fixed her Coke.
She dove right in eating the sandwich and drank the Coke down in one gulp.  She poured some more Coke into her glass and offered her glass for a toast.
She gulped down more food and said, “Wow, I can’t believe I was that hungry.”
He smiled and said, “I am glad you were awake to eat.”
They touched their glasses and said, “Cheers” automatically and giggled.  They sat up in bed, talked about things going on at the castle and their life in Romania.  For a while, Tabbruis and Charmeine enjoyed the quiet time together like any married couple would.  Life requested a lot from them, and it was nice to have a moment alone.
She put the tray on the night table, kissed him sweetly.  She said, “In all this craziness our lives have been, I know at the end of the day, I can lay my head on your chest, hear your heartbeat, and everything will be okay.”  Almost with a jump, she threw off the sheet and busily cleaned up the dishes putting them on the cart.  “I have to brush my teeth.  Meet you back here?” she asked.
He winked at her with a nod and a suggestive curl of his lips.
“Um, okay Sexy…I will be right back,” she said with a smile.
A few minutes later, Tabbruis heard odd sounds coming from the bathroom.   Quickly, he went into the bathroom.  She was kneeling in front of her toilet.
“What is it?  Are you okay?” he asked urgently.
“I’m fine.  Geez Louise, I didn’t even drink!  This is no fair.  You should at least have had some Tequila to be this sick,” she answered with a strained smile.
He got a cold washcloth and put it on her head.  Tabbruis reached out with his senses to check her heart rate, and it was okay, but he was still concerned.
“I’m fine now Tabbruis, no worries.”
He helped her stand up.
She went to the sink and rinsed out her mouth.  A little self-conscious, she said, “I really do need to brush my teeth now.  I’m okay; I just had a little indigestion.  Please close the door on your way out?”
“Can I get something to settle your stomach?”
Shaking her head, she replied, “No need, it is over.  I don’t feel the least bit queasy anymore, but I do want to brush my teeth now.”
Tabbruis walked to the door with a strange look on his face and said, “I will be waiting.”
When he closed the door, Charmeine sarcastically said to herself as she was loading her brush up with toothpaste, “Just what I need… a stomach bug on top of saving the world.”
She came out of the bathroom, and the sun was up.  She was exhausted and hot.
Tabbruis got up, opened the patio doors and a cool breeze wafted over the bedroom.  Then, he closed the heavy curtains which darkened the room, leaving them open enough to let the breeze in.
Charmeine peeled off her clothes and got into bed.
Tabbruis did the same and patted his chest beckoning her to come to him.
She laid her tired head on his chest and heard his heartbeat.  She said, “I love you so…”
Tabbruis and Charmeine one soul forever!

Tabbruis and Charmeine one soul forever!

Tabbruis interrupted her and said, “… that you came to Hell to rescue me…”  He sighed and said, “I can never even begin to say thank you my love.”
 “Semper tua ero, Tabbruis.”
“Charmeine, semper tuus ero.”
Their naked bodies were connecting and folding together.  It seemed ever since their wedding night, Tabbruis and Charmeine’s bodies were somehow now one and their flesh intermingled as a single entity.
She sniffed the rose scent on her arm and said, “I love this rose lotion, but you spoil me too much.”
He said, “My love, I have gone centuries with no one to be with.  Let me love you.  Let me take care of you.  And yes, let me spoil you.  I want you to be…” he noticed she was asleep.
Tabbruis kissed Charmeine on the forehead, breathed in her rose scent and fell asleep enfolding her tightly in his strong arms.

Love the light for it shows the way, endure darkness because it shows the stars.
I absolutely love this song since the first time I heard it in January 1970.  When I tell you it still brings a tear to my eye it’s the truth.
Please take a breath, relax and listen to this!
