“Charmeine Remembers” snippet of “ACCENDO” the 3rd Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series” by Emily Guido

Charmeine screamed in utter horror and sat up in bed crying and wailing. She was thrashing out her arms and kicking. She heard a voice, “Charmeine! Charmeine, wake up.” She felt someone touching her arms. Breathless and sweat pouring off of her, she yelled starting to punch them wanting to be let go. She felt the grip stronger and the voice said, “Charmeine! It is a bad dream. Wake up Charmeine!”
She opened her eyes and it was Tabbruis.
With a great sense of relief, she grabbed Tabbruis around the neck and kissed him deeply.
He had a hard time pulling her off and said, “Charmeine, it was a dream. You are safe. Look around, you are with me.”
She looked around the room. They were in the Master Suite in Romania. She began to settle down, breathe, smelled the sea breeze and instantly felt relieved.
Her eyes became wide and urgently said, “Tabbruis, I have to speak to everyone! Now!”
She shot out of bed and headed for the door.
Tabbruis got up and yelled, “Charmeine wait! You have no clothes on!”
Charmeine turned and her face was blushing. Then she frantically started to dress. Tabbruis asked, “What is going on?”
Charmeine screamed, “I know!”
Tabbruis’ eyes flew open and yelled, “Get dressed!”

As soon as they were dressed, Tabbruis had her in his arms and ran her down to the Great Hall.
Charmeine smiled and said, “Someday, you gotta show me how you do that.”
Tabbruis smiled and said, “Wait here.”
It was about 1:00 in the morning and practice was still going on.
Tabbruis ran on the field and yelled, “Everyone stop! Come to the Grand Hall! Charmeine has remembered!”
Tabbruis ran back into the Grand Hall and sat beside her. Dmitri was instantly there moving the chairs in a circle around Charmeine. Everyone came and some were dirty and sweating.
Dmitri rang for refreshments while everyone was being seated.
Charmeine looked at her family and said, “I know… I know the whole truth. I need to tell you, my family, everything.”

As the sun was rising, the Grand Hall was completely silent.
Charmeine’s throat was dry and drank the last bit of Coke down. She gently put the glass on the table. Everyone was shocked, stunned and amazed.
Charmeine got up and went over to the door of the Formal Rose Garden opened it and took a deep breath of relief. She had unburdened her heavy heart with her family. They would be able to fight now with a real and deep sense of purpose.
Charmeine turned around and said, “I know you must have questions, and I will answer them. I have nothing to hide from my family. However, we must rid the Earth of the Elder Council, it is critical.”
Dmitri said, “Yes, you are right! We have to engage the Elder Council in battle at their meeting place, the Acropolis in Athens, Greece.” Dmitri stood up and came over to Charmeine and said, “My Queen,” and kissed her hand.
Neal stood up and walked to her and said, “My Queen.” He bent down low and kissed her hand.
Thomas bowed and said, “My Queen.”
Uncharacteristically, Shane got up with his shoulders back and very proudly came over to Charmeine and bowed deep. He said, “My Queen,” then kissed her hand and hugged her tightly.
Sandra stood up and curtsied and said, “My Queen,” and kissed her cheek.
Tabbruis knelt on one knee, and said, “My Queen. May I worthy of being your King,” and he kissed her hand.

THE PROPHECY IS FILLED!

Charmeine said, “Please stand with me Tabbruis.” He stood along with her facing the family. With poise and grace she said, “I accept the honor of being your Queen of Light. I will fight to death alongside of you to rid the Earth of the Elder Council.”
Then she took a deep breath and said, “However, we cannot do anything if we are not properly fed and rested.” She looked to Dmitri and nodded.
Dmitri said, “Yes, My Queen, you are right. Everyone, please go and rest. I will instruct my people to bring your proper food to your quarters. Let us rendezvous in my private study this evening at 6:00 p.m. I will have everything we need to plan an attack.”
