The Meme Machine – The Quantum Evolution Shift
How do we evolve? Today we’re at a key point in history when a massive transformation is taking place on a global level. Richard Dawkins first coined the term ‘meme’ in his book The Selfish Gene where he put forward the theory that we’re don’t just evolve via our genes but by our memes – ideas that spread from person to person to a point where they become mainstream and bring about a shift in a population. When we stop to think about it and look back at history, we can say there is no genetic difference between us and people who lived thousands of years ago. There is however a huge difference between the knowledge and ideas we share – so we can clearly see the effect ideas – or memes, have had.
What Richard Dawkins refers to as a meme can of course be linked to Unified Field Theory in quantum physics – that all is connected, and Jung’s theory of the Collective Unconscious. Jung’s theory also makes sense when placed in the context of quantum physics as he described the Collective Unconscious as a body of energy which lives forever, although Jung formulated his theory decades before the advent of quantum physics. Interestingly enough, Jung said that all life forms with a nervous system shared the Collective Unconscious – and that includes animals once again putting this great thinker ahead of the latest ‘meme’ which acknowledges that our animals have a consciousness and emotions. Jung’s ‘memes’ which are now almost universally accepted, were not only ahead of his time but we can see how they have aided us in evolving our knowledge of the human mind.
When it comes to our minds, neuroplasticity has shown us that our brains can grow new neural pathways as we accept new ideas and to accommodate new behaviours. So, can memes actually aid us in making huge evolutionary steps not only in our lives but also quite literally, in our minds? I firmly believe they can.
We’re all the product of memes whether we like it or not. When we’re young we’ve obviously exposed to our parent’s memes and then those of our family, friends and teachers. The good thing is if we were exposed to negative memes when we were growing up, we can choose to replace them with positive ones as we get older and as we’ve said our brains can literally be ‘re-wired’ to accept the new meme.
If we return to Unified Field Theory and the Collective Unconscious one final time and then look at how memes take hold, we can then fully understand how one person choosing to change the memes they believe in can impact on the whole as these ideas begin to flow from one person to another until they become accepted by many.
In this time of Quantum Shift I’ll be talking more about memes and how they affect us as well as adding new Quantum Creating videos on YouTube.
So, choose the memes you want to see reflected in your world and know that by changing your thoughts, you can literally transform your world and that of others.
