POV

Awesome discussion still going on in my last blog post. It seems everyone has a different opinion on how to handle pronouns/character names/descriptions. I've really enjoyed reading the different ideas, and the article referenced. Thanks so much for contributing! And keep doing it, please!

Oddly, I've got three stories going at the moment that are in first person. I think I enjoy writing first person the best, though I try not to overdo it. I'm not sure how I know which POV the story will be in when I start. It just seems right to me.

Writers, how do you decide what POV your story will be in? Do you ever change your mind?

Readers, do you have a POV that you will absolutely not read?

Jack, procrastinating again...

Natalija I'm not a big fan of 1st person POV because I get to see only one side of the story, however, in the hands of the right author, it will not bother me at all.

Kate Hill Both as a reader and a writer I usually don't care for the first person POV. I've written a few stories in it, but strongly prefer the third person POV. If a first person POV story is written by a favorite author or if it has a blurb that seriously grabs me, I'll read it.
