It's time to relaaaax and draw.
Hello, friend!
I am happy to announce that my year-long run of cons, voracious traveling and public presentations is finally OVER. I have no more readings scheduled until next year, no more standing at tables until my feet are numb, no more hemorrhaging money, no more flying on planes, no more rental cars and keeping my liquids in a little baggie. Hooray for sitting still and drawing for a while!
Since my last newsletter, I did a bunch of readings (including at the infamous City Lights to celebrate the release of the Sister Spit anthology!), went on a week-long family whirlwind trip to Japan (ate amazing food, appeased grumpy tempers, watched my sister get bit by a deer), taught a workshop at CIIS (I actually really enjoyed teaching—who knew?), made my very first music video (for Terese Taylor—I’ll post it next month, after it finds a home on the internet), finished some comics that will appear in printed books in 2013 (a sexy, full-color, sixteen-page story for Rob Kirby’s anthology THREE, and a six-pager for the next HENRY & GLENN FOREVER), and did some illustrations for Stephen Elliott’s HAPPY BABY. Despite all the traveling and teaching, this has definitely been one of my more productive months. So why do I still feel like it’s not enough?
Hm…
Okay, to divert from this existential dilemma, I’m just going to give you the good stuff and shut my yap.
