The Nicest Thing

We just got through a grueling election season, and whether the candidate you backed won or lost, I’ll every one of you is exhausted. I am. Exhausted from the ad bombardments, the bickering and, especially the negativity. The whole thing just about made me forget that feel good moments actually do exist. When my niece, Melanie, was about three, she came up with what’s become one of our family’s mantras (out of the mouths of babes, you know): “Why can’t everybody just be nice?”

It seems simple...
