Growing Up with Kaylee- Fall Fun!

It has been quite some time since I posted a "Growing Up with Kaylee" blog post. She's almost 3 1/2 and has grown so tall. I have no doubts she is going to be taller than me. She is 40" and weighs 38 pounds and still asks to be picked up. I still do it. I barely stand 5'4". How old did you stop picking up your child? It isn't her fault she is such a tall girl. I am going to share some things we did this past month together. We had many more pictures and a couple other events to share, but there is only so much room here. We also read several seasonal books. Some of those books were from the Children's Book Group here on Goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

The little boy in the picture is Kaylee's cousin Max and the other little girl is her cousin Alyssa. Hard to believe they are only 6 months between Kaylee who is the oldest and Alyssa who is the youngest.

I'd love for you to leave a comment with what you did with your family or friends leading up to Halloween.

Harry Potter Pumpkin
Yes, that is a little golden pumpkin used to make the snitch. =) I had the idea and went with it. We used permanent marker paint pens. My husband wanted the scarf for himself. If you look closely, this was the perfect pumpkin. My daughter picked it out and we didn't notice until we got home that it has a nose!

See the two oreo cookies in the upper left? Evidence of the two smallest sneaking cookies while I help Kaylee dip the first cookie. =) The kids decorated these themselves. Can you guess which one was my husband's? He loves peanut butter cups. Oreos were dipped in orange candy melts and decorated with mini chocolate chips. Very easy and fun to make. Yes, tasty too!

Lisa Vegan Crystal, Kaylee is absolutely adorable. Yes, she's so much bigger than when last I saw her. She's so lucky to have a creative and reading mom too. I LOVE the Harry Potter photo too. Ha!

Thank you, Lisa! My sister-in-law tried to teach the little ones to say "Expelliarmus" when their uncle was pretending to be a monster and chasing them. What it ended up sounding like when they said it, "Smelly Armpits!" LOL!

Renee Omigosh!! Waaaay too cute! It's so much fun going to the pumpkin patch when the kids are little. It looks like you had a nice day with no relentless rain.

That's so funny with the Harry Potter pumpkin and its nose. It turned out so great!

As we were taking down our Halloween decorations, Dominic was crying hysterically because I put our milk jug ghosts in the recycling. I eventually gave in and set them aside because it was so heartbreaking.

Glad you had a nice pre-Halloween period! Hope you are fully healed from being sick. xx

Thanks Renee, I am fully healed thank you! Hope you are all well. I have a holiday bazaar tomorrow and Sunday with my sisters, one makes hair candy, the other makes unique wool felt items. I love going to them and figure I would be there anyway. I love supporting locals and the bonding time is fun too. So glad you enjoyed the Harry Potter Pumpkin and the pics. Isn't that funny, he had a nose. It was just meant to be. =) I think Kaylee is going to have the same reaction when Harry has to be composted. I might shed a tear too. =)

Tricia Douglas Kaylee has grown so fast. I think she was under one year old when I first started blogging with you. She is at a great age and things will only be more fun as she gets older. I am lucky to be able to look back on all the things I did with my daughters: pumpkin patch, sewing costumes, parties. Now I have my two grandsons, 2 and 4, and my new grand-daughter 4 months. Life passes so fast, be sure to enjoy every second of it.

Thank you Tricia, it must be wonderful to have three grandchildren. They are all at a fun age too. Thank you for reminding me to cherish these moments. Take care! =)
