Grammar Cop: Plural Last Names, Bad Abbreviations, and a Holiday "Reef"

Last week's Grammar Cop post generated some great feedback as well as quite a few submissions of errors readers have found. One was so appalling that I posted it later in the afternoon. As a result, I may never eat boiled peanuts again.
