Author Bio: Michelle Robinson was born and raised in Oakland, CA. Oakland’s rich culture has laid the fabric for this story. She’s been doing hair for two decades. As a hairstylist, it’s safe to say she has also served as a therapist to her clients. She has heard and witnessed it all right behind her styling chair. From her experiences, she’s given advice to many and has watched people’s lives transition. With this driving force, she has finally penned her first novel.

About the Writer

1. What five words describe you?

Creative, witty, humorous, passionate, & organized.

2. What was the first story you ever wrote? I mean the really bad one we all have that you’re trying to hide in the back of closet now that you’re published?

Right Before My Eyes is my first story.

3. What inspires you?

As a hairstylist, I hear so many different stories from clients, it sometimes makes you say, “this isn’t real”, but it’s real life, someone’s real life story. So as an writer, I have fun picking apart these stories and adding twists to them to make them fictional.

4. What distracts you?

My other half, my career as a hairstylist and business owner, TV, Facebook, text messages and emails. However, I wised up and took another day off just to write.

5. What’s your favorite story? This can be specific, as in a particular book or even story-driven movie, or general, like “I’m a sucker for a hero looking for redemption story.”

Any fiction with a lot of different characters that has twists in the story. I want to be into the book so much that I don’t want to answer my phone. I really like the 4 friends thing…Sex And The City, Girlfriends, & Golden Girls!
